Pinegrove plantation
Pinegrove Plantation is a large antebellum farm located near Camden, South Carolina. The existing grounds include a large mature pecan grove and juvenile pine forest that is filling in around the perimeter of the property. The current owner is making improvements to the main residence and intends to develop the grounds to host immediate family members and as a retreat for church members to attend. Grimball-Cotterill is designing new walks, walls and fences, parking and drop-off areas, and plantings at the main residence. Also being designed are many new amenities, such as a visitor cottage area to include four cottages, a swimming pool, grilling area, open lawn for games and sports, an official sized croquet court and a chipping/putting green. Additional improvements would be made at existing horse paddocks, that will include a 6 horse stable and group parking for the cottage area. As the project progresses, it is estimated that other designed amenities may include a small chapel, a fishing dock on the pond, walking/riding trails with sitting overlooks for relaxation and meditation, and a skeet shooting range. Work on this property may continue for several years.
